The Cross of Jesus and Atonement

Main reference: Jn 1:29 (Mt 6:12, Jn 6:51-57)

The wages of sin is death (refer to Rom 6:23, Jas 1:15). Since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1Co15:21-22).

God gave Moses the Law to redeem the sin of humans, but their sins were not atoned for (Heb 10). Jesus said, ‘your forefathers ate manna and died, but those who feed on the bread I give you will live forever.’ Calling himself as the living bread that came down from Heaven. Jesus said that whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life (Jn 6:48-58).  At the night of Passover, he made a covenant that he will drink his  blood and eat his flesh in his Father’s kingdom, and until the kingdom of God comes, to take wine and bread in remembrance of the flesh and blood of Jesus (Mt 26:26-29,  Lk 22:16-20).

The true bread and blood of Jesus become effective when the Revelation is fulfilled. That time, the twelve tribes of God’s kingdom will be created by receiving salvation with the blood of Jesus (refer to Rv 5:9-10). The kingdom and people purchased by Jesus’ blood will be the promised kingdom and the promised people.

Jesus’ boring the cross to be the lamb who takes away the sins of the world was the method of punishment for the worst criminals (Jn 1:29).  If Jesus boring the cross was a burden for sins, who was the cross? It was the sinners. Jesus obeyed the command of Father God, and bore the cross of sinner. It was that one righteous man bore the cross for sinners. The cross is the love for which the righteous one gave his own life for the sinners.

Then who killed whom? Who died on behalf of whom to save their lives? If the cross were the sinners, it means that they killed the righteous man, Jesus. He died on behalf of sinners to save their lives. Because of our sins, Jesus died on the cross, and so did we. The resurrected one out of death was not me, but only Jesus inside me. We were saved as we were purchased by the blood of Jesus. For I (we) no longer live, and Christ lives in me, I live by faith in Jesus (refer to Gal 2:20).

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.(Rm 8:9) As he said that whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life (Jn 6:53-54).  It is at Jesus’ second coming when God’s kingdom, his kings and the twelve tribes are created. The twelve tribes are the promised new spiritual Israel, which is the promised one who overcome in Rev. Chapter 2 & 3. (refer to Gen 32:28). The one who overcome is the one whom the Spirit of truth is with, as promised in Jn 14:16-17, 20, 26. The one who overcome is the messenger of Jesus, and the one given authority over nations. It was Jesus who received the authority from the Father God, and he gives the white stone to the one who overcomes (Rev 2:17, 26-27).

Those who are dead in Adam are not aware of their own death. It is because they do not believe the fact that the Spirit in which Jesus and the one who overcomes become one does not dwell in themselves. In those who believe in the new covenant and promises will be Jesus as God is with him (Jn 14:20, Rev 3:20).

It is lies if those who neither believe in the promise nor have the Spirit of God, Jesus and the one who overcomes, claim that they are the ‘orthodox’ and ‘have already received salvation.’  It is the spirit of lies saying its own words, sowing the evil seed and feeding Satan’s wine of adultery.  Anyone who receives the revealed words will get salvation from death to resurrection (Jn 5:24-29).

As explained above, the promised pastor of today is the one who overcame, who is the messenger of Jesus, the one who has authority and is with the Lord.  Today the salvation will be for those who believe in the promised pastor.  We, Shinchonji pray for all believers to obey such promise.
