Shinchonji-The standard that distinguishes orthodoxy from heresy

The following was written to promote proper knowledge of the word and a proper life of faith for all believers.

What is a cult? Who decides what is and what is not a cult? The answers lie with God, the Bible and the promised pastor to whom God gives the authority to judge (Jn 5:22; Rev 2:17).

God left the world when Adam and Eve sinned against him (Gen 3; Gen 6:1-3). This is how Satan took over the world. At the time of Cain and Abel, the world began to give sacrifices to God in repentance (Gen 4:1-4), but when Cain killed Abel, only Cain and his sinful descendants remained (Gen 4). As is clear in the scriptures, it was into this sinful world that God sent prophets and pastors to speak on his behalf. The plan failed, however, when the pretentious pastors of the world persecuted and killed as heretics the ones sent by God (Matt 23:30-35; Lk 20:9-15). Were Jesus and his disciples really heretics? According to verses like Lk 18:8 and Rev 11:8, the situation in the time of the second coming will be the same. Who is the true pastor in the time of the second coming? The Bible testifies only one true pastor sent by God in both the first coming and the second coming.

The truth is that those who called Jesus a heretic were heretics themselves; those whom they persecuted were the truly orthodox. What is happening today? Thousands of slanderous comments have been posted about Shinchonji on the Internet. Who do you think is doing this? This is no different from the pastors who persecuted Jesus. Since God gave us a command to forgive, love, and bless one another (Matt 5; Matt 18), we should be able to discern the work of Satan from the work of God. If you cannot distinguish, then your spirit is dead.

God loved the world so much that he gave his only son to save them (Jn 3:16). Jesus not only associated with sinners, but he gave up his life for them (Matt 9-11). Jesus epitomized love for others and the forgiveness of sin. By following his example, we too can save people from sin. The people who are posting slanderous comments and curses on the Internet do so while claiming to be righteous and orthodox. Shinchonji congregation members post a correct interpretation of the Bible as well as words of love and blessing. Which side is good and which side is evil?

Alone, the minds of men cannot judge the difference between good and evil. Only the word of God can be trusted with that responsibility (1 Kin 3:9; Isa 8:20; Acts 17:11).

The true understanding of God’s word only comes from the promised pastor who has received the revealed word. The secret knowledge of heaven has been hidden in parables (Matt 13:10-11; Matt 13:34-35) until the time appointed for them to be testified in the form of physical fulfillment (Jn 16:25). The Bible says that no one in heaven or on earth knows the content of the book of Revelation, which belongs to God (Rev 5:3-4). Only the one who receives it and sees what happens to fulfill it can testify as to what is written in that book.

Shinchonji has received the revealed word and is testifying about what really happened to fulfill the prophecies. All the commentaries on the book of Revelation that have been published by the pastors of the world are simply guesswork. They cannot be considered trustworthy. They are false testimonies, and therefore they are heresy. If these pastors are confident in their opinions, they should be willing to have an open discussion to end the dispute.
